Schools

OTT is a quality provider of Outdoor Activities and Training.  We offer a complete range of activities and services that are ideal for school groups and staff.

Policy and Qualifications:

OTT has the following standards in place to ensure that the health, safety and welfare of participants are maintained at a consistently high standard:

*                              OTT is an AALA licensed company

*                              Enhanced disclosure checks on all staff

*                              DI qualified bus drivers

*                              Robust local authority recognised child protection and data protection policies.

 Contact 0141 940 4313 for more information.

*      Fund Raising Events:  OTT can help organise charity events to raise funds for your school or any associated cause.  Consider sending a team down the Clyde in a 240 HP powerboat to climb to the summit of Goat Fell; or organising a non-stop cycle relay through the night along a selected Sustrans route; or perhaps co-ordinating a charity abseil to reach heights of one thousand feet within an hour.  Nothing is too complicated – simply contact us to arrange your next outdoor charity event with a difference!

*       Adventure Service Challenge: This engaging modular programme includes sections on health, physical activity and safety, and forms a popular pre-cursor to Duke of Edinburgh (DOE) training.  This national award scheme is designed to motivate, encourage social understanding and promote self confidence within age groups 8-14.  OTT also offers training for teaching staff for the purpose of in-house delivery.  Contact us for more information.

*       Duke of Edinburgh Expedition Training and Assessment:  OTT can provide high quality training and assessment courses at Bronze, Silver and Gold award levels. Our staff will ensure the training is both thorough and meaningful, regardless of which mode of expedition your pupils choose.  Expeditions will be as challenging as expected of the Award scheme, but with professional safety back-up to ensure security for your pupils.

*      Foreign Excursions: (NB: Can be DOE compatible).  OTT staff are experienced in organising trekking and ski trips abroad for schools and community groups.  Each course is individually designed and sources of grant aid can be recommended to ensure affordability.

OTT is currently promoting a trekking package to the Spanish Pyrenees, which combines health and fitness pre-training with a complete multi-cultural and educational experience.  Our Spanish speaking instructor, Rafael, is native to the area and has a vast knowledge of the local history, natural beauty spots and, of course, the native cuisine.  The overall cost to parents this year (2005), including flights, food and accommodation, was only £250 per child.  Without grant aid, however, the complete package would cost around £620 per child.  Please contact us for more information.

*      Staff Training:  OTT can provide National or Local Governing Body Qualifications for teaching staff in a variety of activities such as water sports, trail cycling, hill walking and archery.  All courses highlight the contemporary requirements for regulation and risk assessment and outline both National and Local Authority expectations of course leaders.
