Glasgow River Festival 2008
19th & 20th July. 10am till 5pm both days
Between the SEC and Science centre.
We've been invited back to offer you Zapcat rides! Once again our fleet of Zapcats will be skimming across the waters at speeds of up to 45mph, and cornering at three times the force of gravity in 
this year's River Festival. Brave copilots (you!) will be holding on and moving as required to get round the course as fast as possible.
We are offering you the chance to try these Zapcats as a copilot, on a buoyed course, as if you were in a real Zapcat race scenario. You will receive some necessary basic instruction, before being taken out on your 15 minute taster on this fast accelerating beast of a boat! (Acceleration is hair-raisingly similar to a 340bhp Ferrari Testarossa!)
Aside from us, there'll be a whole load of other big boats and little boats, including a jet ski display team; hovercraft; powerboats; minesweepers and tall ships galore. There will also be tons of other stuff going on around the water, on dry land.
If you fancy booking yourself or loved one(?!) a taster experience on a Zapcat, then make sure you call. Limited places can be allocated. First come, first served, so if you want a shot, book early!
£20 for 15 minute scheduled experience.
CONDITIONS
Only our pilots are allowed to drive the Zapcats.
Racing lifejacket; helmet; waterproofs provided. Training shoes (that will get wet) should be worn.
All participants must be over 16 (under 18's will need parental consent) and will be required to sign a Risk Acceptance form on the day.
This activity is not suitable for pregnant women; those with serious back problems; brittle bones or heart complaints.
Maximum weight: 20 stone. Min / max height: 4' 10" - 6' 4".
Participants should arrive 15 minutes before their scheduled slot for kitting up.
RYA Powerboat Training Centre
Following a successful assessment, by the Royal Yachting Association, on the 22nd May 2008, we are extremely pleased to announce that we are now able to deliver:
- RYA Powerboat Level 1
- RYA Powerboat Level 2
- RYA Safety Boat
- RYA VHF / SRC (to follow soon)
- RYA Day Skipper (to follow soon)
- RYA First Aid (to follow soon)
Clients will use both 7.2m RIBCRAFT powerboat and 4.2m ZAPCAT. The Level 2 course is aimed at people wanting to gain a recognised qualification in powerboating. The RIBCRAFT is an ideal boat to learn on if you are wishing to purchase a larger powerboat or sportsboat yourself. Training area will be on the open tidal waters of the Clyde near Helensburgh.

The Scottish Events Show
28 February 2008, SECC, Glasgow
OTT EVENTS was exhibiting for the first time at this year's Main Event Show at the SECC.
Prospective clients were able to meet with us and gather their team day solutions, activity ideas and event quotes. Also, for those clients willing to brave the cold, we even had a couple of ZAPCATS on the water for taster sessions.
First for Scotland! ZAPCAT Taming!
A training weekend was held on March 22nd and 23rd '08.
ZAPCATS, originally developed for surf rescue in South Africa, have now been converted for racing and are a regular feature on our coastlines. They have the power to weight to ratio of a Ferrari Taestarossa and are capable of 3G turning. Oh, and they love waves!

Results from the Glasgow River Festival :14th and 15th July 2007
The Glasgow River Festival was hugely busy and a lot of fun. Apart from ZAPCAT 'taster' sessions (pre-booked by the lucky 63), we managed to provide RIB blasts in our 7.2m 'Big Yellow Boat' to 203 passengers.
All those taking part in the ZAPCAT sessions didn't get too wet (except one!), and all left with massive grins.
Both days were great weather and we can't wait till next year!
